Expropriation

Expropriation is a legal process enshrined in the constitution that can be very complicated. The state can take property or property rights from the rightful owner for public use – for example, where new roads, bridges, or railways are to be built.

Expropriation must be carried out to promote the interests of society, but it also has a significant impact on the person being expropriated – this may be an owner or a tenant who is being evicted or whose rights are being expropriated.

There are many interests to be considered, and legal insight and competent advice are necessary to get through the process legally and to ensure that the rights of the parties involved are respected. Tax and excise duties

In connection with the purchase and sale of real estate, including building sites, and the letting of commercial properties, complex VAT legislation may give rise to questions as to whether a transfer or transaction entails an obligation to pay VAT.
